The Harris Center for Conservation Education is dedicated to providing nature education experiences that invite people of all ages to deepen their understanding of our local landscape.
In the Schools
If you live in the Monadnock Region, chances are that your children or your neighbors’ children have participated in Harris Center programs. Since its founding in 1970, we have become a resource for schools and communities in the Monadnock Region, helping to build a strong foundation for an environmental ethic and appreciation of the natural world. Today, our Naturalists-in-Residence work with more than 2,500 students in 27 Monadnock-area schools each year, integrating place-based nature education into K-12 curricula.
Programs & Outings
Every year, we also offer more than 100 free programs and outings for the general public, in addition to more in-depth youth, family, adult, and citizen science educational opportunities. Program offerings are rich and varied, from animal tracking to stargazing on foot, snowshoe, bike, canoe or kayak.
