Addition to the Fall Calendar: Track and Sign Workshop on October 25

Examining wildlife sign — in this case, claw marks left behind on a beech tree after a black bear fattened up on beech nuts.

Learn to follow wildlife using track and sign with renowned wildlife tracker George Leoniak! This workshop — offered by the Harris Center and Antioch University New England — is open to amateur trackers, students, and professionals seeking to improve their tracking skills. It is not necessary to know anything about wildlife tracking to participate, but participants who successfully complete the Level 1 Track & Sign certification evaluation process will receive a Level 1 certificate from CyberTracker Conservation, a globally recognized nonprofit organization which has established an international standard for wildlife tracking skills.

Saturday, October 25 from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the Harris Center. Cost: $130. This workshop will run rain or shine. Bring water and a bag lunch, and be prepared for a full day of walking outdoors in potentially rough terrain.

Space is limited, and registration is required. For more information or to register, please contact Peg Smeltz at
