Composting Toilets

All standard toilets at the Harris Center have been replaced with composting toilets. These are waterless, odorless composting toilets which utilize aerobic bacteria to convert human waste into compost material. The use of this system conserves water and electricity and reduces nitrates reaching the groundwater. The compost is turned daily by rotating the tines in the compost bin.
